Across parts of southern Wisconsin, strong thunderstorms impacted areas including southeastern Columbia, eastern Dane, northwestern Jefferson, and southwestern Dodge Counties during the late night hours. Doppler radar tracked storms capable of producing wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny-size hail.
The threat of a Tornado Warning in Wisconsin is now over as severe storms moved out early Tuesday. The focus for Tuesday shifts to cooler temperatures and breezy conditions.
Temperatures Tuesday are expected to be much cooler, primarily reaching the 50s across the state. Winds will be brisk from the west.
Some areas, particularly north of Highway 8, could see a few snow showers Tuesday morning as the colder air filters in. Skies are forecast to become mostly clear Tuesday night as winds ease.
The forecast for Wednesday includes a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly later in the day and overnight. Temperatures will remain seasonable.
A warming trend is expected towards the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend. Sunny skies are forecast, with temperatures climbing into the 60s and near 70 degrees.
