900 Wall, a long-standing restaurant in downtown Bend, has closed its doors abruptly after 17 years in business. Employees were reportedly informed of the closure the same day it occurred on Monday.

The restaurant, located prominently at the corner of Northwest Wall Street and Minnesota Avenue, announced its closure through a social media post, accompanied by an image of a brick wall.

Owners wrote that they "served our last order of fried green beans Sunday evening." They stated they "did all we could to continue to provide a living for employees, a sense of community for our guests and a platform for all of the local farmers and producers we’ve worked with for the past 17 years."

The owners' statement indicated financial difficulties contributed to the closure. They noted, "We are not alone in our struggle this winter and spring."

The sudden news prompted numerous reactions on social media, with many expressing sadness and disbelief over the closure of the popular spot.

Downtown Bend Business Association Executive Director Rachel O'Rourke confirmed the closure.

The menu outside the building was removed Monday night, and no official signage was posted announcing the decision.

Rachel O'Rourke described the closure as difficult. "900 Wall will be greatly missed after 17 years of operation in Downtown Bend," O'Rourke wrote. "It's always hard to say goodbye to such a beloved part of our community."

O'Rourke added that the Downtown Bend Business Association is already seeking a new tenant for the historic building, which was originally constructed in the 1920s.
