Actor Rondell Sheridan, known for his role on the Disney Channel series That's So Raven, has been hospitalized with severe pancreatitis and is seeking financial assistance for medical costs.

Sheridan, 66, revealed the health condition in a video posted to social media May 7. He said he became sick April 10 while traveling. After an initial misdiagnosis, he was hospitalized upon returning home and diagnosed with pancreatitis.

He spent nine days hospitalized but was released. However, the condition persists. Sheridan stated his pancreas remains inflamed, and there is little treatment available other than waiting for the inflammation to subside. Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas that can cause symptoms like abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting.

Due to his hospitalization and ongoing recovery, Sheridan is unable to work. He created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical bills and living expenses. The campaign has raised tens of thousands of dollars.

Sheridan is widely recognized as Victor Baxter, the father of the titular character, on That's So Raven. He reprised the role in the spinoff series Cory in the House and Raven's Home.

His acting credits also include appearances on programs such as The Jamie Foxx Show, Kenan & Kel, and A Different World.

Before his illness, he had returned to performing stand-up comedy, with his last show in March.

Sheridan shared his situation in the video, saying, "I didn't realize that I was gonna be — and will be — out of work for quite some time. If you have anything that you could donate, I would gladly appreciate it."
