Country singer Gretchen Wilson was crowned the winner of "The Masked Singer" Season 13 on Wednesday, May 7. Wilson competed under the costume of Pearl throughout the Fox singing competition.
The season finale featured four remaining contestants vying for the Golden Mask trophy. In addition to Pearl, the finalists included Boogie Woogie, Coral, and Mad Scientist Monster.
Following performances by all four, Mad Scientist Monster was the first contestant eliminated, finishing in fourth place. Mad Scientist Monster was revealed to be Brian Kelley, known as a member of Florida Georgia Line.
Coral placed third and unmasked next. Actress Meg Donnelly was revealed as the celebrity behind the Coral mask.
Pearl and Boogie Woogie then performed head-to-head for the title. Pearl delivered a rendition of "I'll Stand by You," while Boogie Woogie sang "Love the Hell Out of You."
After the final vote, host Nick Cannon announced Pearl as the season champion. Before Pearl's reveal, runner-up Boogie Woogie was unmasked as singer Andy Grammer.
Gretchen Wilson, known for hits like "Redneck Woman," then took off the Pearl mask to accept the trophy.
Wilson reflected on her journey on the show, noting she had faced physical challenges recently. She mentioned being in a wheelchair for about eight months after shattering her leg bones and ankle.
Participating in the competition proved a personal victory. As Pearl, Wilson delivered performances praised by the panel, including Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, and guest judge Rita Ora.
Upon winning, Gretchen Wilson expressed surprise. "I am floored," she said.
