Miley Cyrus debuted a new song Saturday during an intimate performance at a pre-Met Gala event in New York City. Before performing the track, titled "More to Lose," Cyrus addressed the audience, noting familiar faces in the room.

Miley Cyrus, 32, performed at Casa Cipriani during an event cohosted by Moncler. She told the crowd, "I have a lot of people that I’ve known and loved for a very long time in this room."

Cyrus then added, "Even a couple of exes." She did not identify which former partners were present.

The singer's new song includes lyrics hinting at a past relationship, with lines such as, "'Cause when you're looking like a movie star in a worn out coat... I throw away my mind, it happens all the time," and "I knew someday, the one would have to choose I thought we had more to lose."

Miley Cyrus has had several notable relationships, including a marriage to Liam Hemsworth and dating Nick Jonas, Stella Maxwell, and Cody Simpson. Her comment about exes drew attention following the performance.

"More to Lose" is expected to appear on Cyrus's forthcoming visual album, "Something Beautiful," which is scheduled for release on May 30. She recently previewed the song on social media.

Cyrus has released other tracks from the project, including "End of the World." The album is set to feature 13 original songs.

In recent years, Miley Cyrus has received Grammy Awards. In 2024, she won Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for her song "Flowers." She earned her third Grammy in 2025 with Beyoncé in the Best Country Duo/Group performance category.

Cyrus ended her performance at the Moncler event by singing her hit "Flowers." She spoke about the focus on external appearance during Met Gala week, adding, "everyone that’s ever been a part of my life, or everyone that I’ve ever loved—and there is one that is in this room—I just want to say, I appreciate you deeply for everything that you’ve ever meant to me."
