Online streaming figure Kai Cenat has launched a new educational initiative called Streamer University, intended to instruct aspiring content creators. The program, announced this month, is designed as a weekend intensive held on a college campus.
Enrollment opened online following a promotional video styled after the fictional Hogwarts school from the Harry Potter series. The announcement featured Cenat inviting interested individuals to apply.
Streamer University aims to teach participants how to improve their content creation abilities. Cenat stated the program would be a place "where chaos is encouraged and content is king."
Interest in the program was substantial. The Streamer University Application process quickly drew massive response, with reports indicating over one million applications submitted within minutes of the website launching. This surge in traffic caused temporary site errors.
While the program initially planned to accept around 150 participants, the overwhelming number of applicants demonstrates high demand. The specific college campus location for the event has not yet been announced.
Cenat described the program as an all-inclusive paid trip. Participants will live on a college campus free of charge and focus on creating content throughout the weekend. The initiative is seeking both students and individuals interested in serving as teachers or contributing creatively.
The Twitch personality previously mentioned the idea for a streaming university in February 2025, discussing renting out a university campus for a weekend. He suggested inviting other well-known creators like Mark Rober and MrBeast to potentially teach sessions covering various aspects of content creation.
Cenat is known for his large online following and public events. A 2023 video game giveaway in New York City's Union Square drew a crowd that became disruptive, leading to his arrest and a charge of inciting a riot.
Speaking about the new initiative, Cenat welcomed the first class. "I’m excited to extend to you a most heartfelt welcome to the very first class of Streamer University," Cenat said. "I look forward to seeing you all on campus for our first-ever semester."
