The news confirms the franchise's continued expansion beyond the main film series. Several upcoming John Wick projects are in various stages of production, including television shows and additional films.
Spinoffs have yielded mixed results. The miniseries The Continental explored the backstory of a younger Winston Scott. While building the world, the show did not resonate with audiences as strongly as the movies featuring Reeves.
The next film spinoff, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, will reportedly feature Reeves. The story is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, allowing for the character's appearance without contradicting the fourth film's ending.
