Braynin served as Chief Executive Officer since founding the company. Aya Healthcare recently named Emily Hazen as its new CEO, with Braynin transitioning to a strategic advisor role shortly before his passing was announced.
Hazen previously held roles as chief operations officer for workforce solutions and executive vice president of process optimization at the company. Hazen takes over the top leadership position.
Aya Healthcare is recognized as a large U.S. healthcare staffing firm. It operates a healthcare staffing platform and technology strategy.
The company was recently listed as the ninth-fastest-growing staffing firm in 2024 by Staffing Industry Analysts. Alan Braynin appeared on the SIA Staffing 100 list.
Aya Healthcare is involved in a pending acquisition of Cross Country Healthcare. The transaction is valued at about $615 million and is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
